The Department also offers consultancy services to the industries and industrial problem solving through industry-interaction. The Department has organized many training programs for professionals and for faculty members in area of core chemical engineering, environmental engineering and biofuels. The Department has won many prestigious National awards from various organizations like Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizer, New Delhi & Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE). The Department has acquired many R & D projects from Government of India such as Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), New Delhi and Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA), Gandhinagar.

Message from Head of Department

Head of DepartmentAs Head of the Department it is my pleasure to welcome you to the department of Chemical Engineering. Department has both experienced and young faculties who have graduated from reputed institutions. The faculties as well as students pride themselves in continually evolving in to well-rounded personalities. Our faculties have delivered expert lectures in various areas with industrial experts from Solvay Specialties, Deccan Chemical India Pvt. Ltd. They regularly conduct guest lectures, industry visits and other co and extracurricular activities. Under the aegis of IIChE Students’ Chapter organize various technical activities like paper presentation, quiz, debate, essay etc. The national level symposium “Rasayan” is celebrated inviting students to present their work. B.E. Chemical Engineering program is an excellent blend of fundamentals of Chemical Engineering and allied branches combined with practical skills which are essential to begin professional practice after graduation. Our students are exposed to practical problems through the department’s 06 well equipped laboratories. The department also has Research Laboratory equipped with high end analytical equipment like UV Spectrophotometer, Gas Chromatograph, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, HACH Spectrophotometer, etc. and experimental facilities such as Auger reactor, Vacuum Dryers, Incubators etc., exclusively for the academic projects of students. Engaging students in academic/sponsored projects and in technical events help them become competent and confident Chemical Engineers. Finally, I wish Chemical Engineering students pleasant and successful four years in the department.
